The Ziibiwing Center will premiere a new changing exhibition, “The Dr. Mike and Linda Shinkle Collection: People of the Turtle,” on Sat., Jan. 30, 2010 with a Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony at 12pm. The new exhibit is free and open to the public on Jan. 30 only. This exhibition will run Jan. 30 – Aug. 7, 2010 and is complimentary with admission to the Diba Jimooyung (Telling Our Story) permanent exhibit. The collection consists of 40 oil on canvas portraits depicting Woodland Tribal elders and leaders; showcasing a great appreciation for the history, people, and stories of the Woodland Indians.

The Ziibiwing Center and Exclusive Sponsor, PNC Bank concludes NativeFest with a special Katsina/Katchina Doll Collection Showing. These dolls are wooden representations of the culture and history of the Hopi Indians and are used to teach their children about the spirits that assist in the trials of life. This event is free and open to the public.
